In the last 75 years, India has worked hard on various problems and it has come a long way from what Britishers had left it.
India has ambitious plans for the next two decades widely knowns as "Megaprojects" which will help India achieve its dream one day. The Megaprojects in India is surely going transform it's economy , infrastructure and also make India future ready.

1. Aditya L1 mission & Disha and Trishna Mission
It is a mission by ISRO to study the surface of the Sun. It will travel up to 1.5 million km away from Earth . If this mission succeeds then it will be a success for India in the global stage . ISRO is also planning Disha and Trishna mission. Disha and Krishna are the two twin satellites. Disha will study the last layer of the atmosphere of the earth and trishna will be developed with the collaboration of CNES France to map the earth's surface more accurately .These projects will surely boost the space infrastructure of India
2. Bharatmala Project
It is a project by National Highway authority of India to boost to road infrastructure in the country. Under the Bharat Mala project the government has been planned to develop 50,000 km long network of roads , highways and expressways along the west, north and north east India . The main motive is to connect the long border routes with the economic corridors along with the remote areas for a free flow of goods and supplies which will be helpful in increasing the Exports. It is expected to create 22 million jobs in India . It consist of 9000 km of economic corridor, 6000 km of inter corridor and Feeder routes along with 5000 km of national corridors and various other projects.
3. Sagarmala Project.
It is a project by the central government of India to connect all the coastal areas such as ports and industrial hubs with a highways, expressways as well as inland waterways to create an ecosystem of organized economic corridor for the free flow of cargo in the coastal regions of India resulting in increase of exports. It is notable that India has a coastline of 7000 km and under this project, the major infrastructure boost will surely benefit in the exports of India. According to the central government of India at least 40000 crores will be saved by the country because of this project .
4 . Dedicated Freight Corridors
DFC ( Dedicated Freight Corridor) is major infrastructure project of railways in India. It has got it's specially dedicated tracks just for the cargo movement throughout the country. It is a flagship project of the Indian railways and also a dream project of the Prime Minister of India Shri Narendra Modiji to boost and revolutionize the concept of cargo traffic in India. A long 1839 km of Eastern dedicated Freight Corridor has been made which starts from Ludhiana, Punjab and ends at Dankuni , West Bengal. The other one is Western Dedicated Freight Corridor which is comprised of 1500 km in length and starts from dadri, UP and ends at Jawaharlal Nehru Port(JNPT), Mumbai. This dedicated freight Corridors are made for the sole purpose of transporting goods in a fast, effective way throughout the country. The major gains for the Indian Railways will be that there will be 70% decrease in the freight trains which runs directly on the passenger routes thus resulting in the removal of congestion which will directly benefit the passenger trains and they will be able to run on time. Another one is that DFC will be able to handle more capacity of freights in less time thus the cargo will efficiently be transported throughout the country in less time. India has laid an objective to transport all the cargo throughout the country in a single day !
5. Mumbai Ahmedabad bullet train
Till now India doesn't have a single train running above 200 km/hr but the train revolution has already started in India.
India is building its first bullet train Corridor which starts from Mumbai, Maharashtra to Ahmedabad, Gujarat. It is a part of Mumbai-Delhi bullet train Corridor (An ambitious megaproject to connect the national capital to the financial capital). it is a kind of first high speed railway network which is in under construction in India right now. India doesn't have any infrastructure to support the bullet train so the construction has began from scratch and so it can be considered as the beginning of the bullet train revolution in India. The trials will be conducted in the early 2026 with a speed of 350 km/hr but it will commercially run at 320 km/hr for safety purposes. India also has other bullet train lines under planning such as Delhi-Howrah Bullet train corridor, Delhi-Jammu via Amritsar etc. India has plans to build at least 10,000km km of high speed rail corridor by 2050.
6. naVIC
Indian regional navigation satellite system (IRNSS) is India's indigenously developed in navigational satellite system. It is a kind of navigation system which is developed by the Indian space and research organization(ISRO). It is a combination of 8 satellites which has a coverage of the whole Indian subcontinent. It is proudly Made In India and thus the space Infrastructure is getting more upgraded. It can also be considered as India's own GPS. The major key objectives of naVIC is the aerial and Marine navigation disaster management, tracking of vehicles and fleet management, for businesses it can improve the timing and mapping terrestrial navigation for hikers and travelers.
7. 5Gi
India is also upgrading it's IT infrastructure and using it fore mostly for the countries future goals. 5Gi can be considered as Indian 5G network which is made in India. It is made under the collaboration of IIT Hyderabad in IIT Madras. it has also got the approval of the International communication union which has made proved Indian Technology on the global stage. it is slightly different from the normal 5G as it will work on the lower frequency which will provide more range and will also be cost effective.
8. Farming Sector
The central government is also putting all the efforts in development of the farming center with Infrastructure, Technology ,innovation and capital investment. Government is providing drones to farmer's for their farmlands thus upgrading the technology infrastructure. there are various running schemes by the government of India such as national mission for sustainable agriculture, pradhanmantri Krishi sinchai Yojana, gramin bhandaran Yojana etc. these schemes include assistant to farmers like subsidy, Technology support , equipment awareness and hassle-free arrangement of funding.
9. Renewable Energy
The mission of India is to generate 100 gigawatt of energy from solar power by 2022. India is one of the few countries in the world which is taking a lead in the renewable energy sector. Today, India has infrastructure of more than 40 solar power plants which produces more than 10 megawatt of solar energy. The prime example is the Bhadla solar park in Rajasthan which is the largest solar park in the world. Government is also suggesting it's citizens to install and use the solar panels in their office space ,residential apartments in the future.
10. The Chenab bridge and the Anji-khad bridge
These are the two bridges which are under construction in India in the union territory of Jammu and Kashmir. these are one of the two most ambitious infrastructure megaprojects which will finally connect the valley of Kashmir to the rest of the India by railways when completed. These projects are under construction since 2 decades and after long hurdles it construction has finally come to an end. These two bridges are also very important because of security issues as well as connectivity issues during extreme weather conditions.
11. Vande Bharat trains
These are the new era of trains which is produced, run and maintained by Indian railways which have a maximum speed limit of 180 km/hr . These trains will run on the current Indian Railways Tracks with more comfort and speed . It is also the face of the modern Indian Railways as its has been one the revolutionary infrastructure upgradation and the first Vande Bharat train was launched by Prime Minister of India Shri Narendra Modi in the year 2019. It is a first kind of train which is manufactured under made in India scheme. The government also has the ambitious mega project of making 400 Vande Bharat express trains by 2027 which will be made to run across the country in various busy roots and thus it will be replaced by the old Indian trains. It can also be termed as semi-high speed train of India clocking a speed of 130 kmph.
